Myth: “It won’t happen to me.”

Reality: According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 70% of people turning 65 can expect to use some form of long term care during their lives.

Myth: “Health insurance covers this.”

Reality: Health insurance pays for hospital and medical care, it does not pay the costs of extended health care services. Long term care insurance (LTCI) will pay for the additional care you may need.

Myth: “The government will take care of me.”

Reality: Medicare and Medicare Supplement Insurance do not cover the costs of long term care as many think.

Myth: “I can’t afford it.”

Reality: Can you afford to pay out of your own pocket for Long Term Care services?

For as little as $60/month you can have a base plan to help offset these costs today and in the future when you need care.

Myth: “My family will take care of me.”

Reality: Caring for a family member or loved one can be emotionally and financially challenging. Caregivers miss an average of 7 hours of work per week – almost 18% of a 40-hour work week.
